Windstopper Extreme is a fiber cement wind barrier board for ventilated exterior wall assemblies. Manufactured from cement and limestone filler with a reinforced fiber formulation, it is designed for durable performance under demanding exposure conditions.
The board provides low vapor resistance, allowing moisture within the wall assembly to diffuse outward. Insulation can be installed directly against the interior face, supporting efficient wall assembly design.
The board resists rot, fungal growth, and prolonged weather exposure, and performs under varying climate conditions and temperature fluctuations. It is noncombustible and classified A1 for reaction to fire.
Windstopper Extreme is available in 4.5 and 9 mm thicknesses. Increased thickness provides greater mechanical strength and supports higher wind load resistance.
When installed in accordance with Swisspearl guidelines, Windstopper Extreme can serve as a temporary exterior enclosure for up to 12 months. It is not intended as a finished facade panel.
Fire Performance
Windstopper Extreme achieves an A1 classification for reaction to fire. The material is noncombustible and does not contribute to smoke development or flaming droplets.
