A world of color shaped by art and science

Color has long played a central role in architecture. This feature explores its historical use, the influence of context and surroundings, and the technical precision required to achieve consistent color in the building envelope.

Trash Cube

Form shaped by light and shadow

Formed from pressed and folded fiber cement elements, the Trash Cube reads as a sculptural object defined by light and shadow. The exterior presents a faceted, raw expression, while the top and bottom remain smooth and functional.

The contrast highlights both the malleability and strength of the material, resulting in a form that is at once distinctive and adaptable. Swisspearl Architecture Magazine traces the development of the Trash Cube from concept to realization.
