Located in eastern Slovenia, House XL is designed for a family of seven and represents a contemporary interpretation of the region’s architectural heritage. Created by SoNo Architects, the residence is conceived as a quiet dialogue between tradition and modern living. Its form and proportions respond sensitively to the surrounding landscape of rolling hills and cultivated fields, allowing the building to settle naturally into its environment.
The architecture pays subtle tribute to local building traditions while introducing a refined modern expression. Through thoughtful massing, material selection, and careful integration with the terrain, House XL demonstrates how contemporary design can honor context, culture, and place—resulting in a home that feels both rooted and forward‑looking.
