Swisspearl UK completes comprehensive CWCT testing across Largo façade panel range

2026-08-03 Leigh Jolliffe 2 min

Swisspearl has successfully completed a comprehensive programme of CWCT testing across its full Largo façade panel range, including popular products such as Carat and Reflex.

The testing programme evaluated both traditional face-fixed installations and the Swisspearl Sigma 8 Pro secret-fix system, providing specifiers with verified performance data across the fixing methods most commonly used on UK projects. In addition, the façade system was subjected to a 50-year cyclical wind load assessment, demonstrating its long-term durability and resilience under demanding environmental conditions.

All testing was conducted using Swisspearl Windstopper Extreme, the company's A1-rated sheathing board, which eliminates the need for a separate breather membrane and helps simplify façade build-ups. The successful test results provide architects, specifiers and contractors with increased confidence when selecting Swisspearl façade panels and sheathing boards, supporting compliance, durability and dependable performance across a wide variety of building types.

Swisspearl has also completed impact testing of its air-cured façade materials in accordance with EAD 090062-01-0404:2021.

Results demonstrated that:

  • Air-cured Largo 8mm panels achieve Category II-b performance in both hard-body and soft-body impact tests when installed on a subframe with 600mm centres
  • A Category I rating can be achieved for the 400J soft-body impact test when an 8mm face-fixed Largo panel is installed with a subframe ghost batten at 300mm centres
  • The façade boards do not need to be mechanically fixed to the ghost batten in order to achieve this Category I classification.

These results further reinforce the robustness of the Swisspearl Largo system and provide architects with greater flexibility when specifying high-performance rainscreen façade solutions.
