The Powerhouse stands as a beacon of progress, featuring a massive solar installation on its roof and a pioneering PV façade on the east side. The roof is adorned with 3,142 PV modules, sprawling over an area of 6,278 m2, and capable of generating an impressive 1,000 kWp. This remarkable installation enables us to produce up to 12% of our electricity needs from renewable sources, significantly reducing our carbon footprint and leading the way in eco-friendly manufacturing.
But the innovation doesn't stop there. The east façade of the Powerhouse is a groundbreaking pilot project, showcasing our new PV façade modules. These modules are a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics, designed to be both energy-efficient and visually appealing. The façade, consisting of 442 PV modules and 68 fibre cement panels, covers an area of 550 m2. It's not just a wall; it's a statement – demonstrating how architecture can harmoniously intertwine with sustainability.
This project is a proud achievement for Swisspearl, and it wouldn't have been possible without the visionary leadership of Bernhard Alpstaeg, our owner, whose trust and foresight have been instrumental in bringing this project to life. A heartfelt thanks also goes to every Swisspearl employee whose dedication and hard work have been pivotal in the success of the new hall.
