Located in Varna, Bulgaria, this residential building successfully merges historical value with modern architectural design. The original structure from 1923 had deteriorated over time, yet its rich ornamentation — including sculptural details created by artist Kiril Shivarov — gave the façade a distinctive character and significant cultural heritage value.
Instead of demolishing the old structure, the two‑storey original building was carefully integrated into a new five‑storey development. The preserved historical façade now functions as an active architectural element within the contemporary composition, establishing a harmonious dialogue between past and present.
The façades of the newly added floors are clad with Swisspearl Carat Ivory 8090 and Gravial Ivory 3090 panels. These material choices reinforce the project’s core objectives: durability, aesthetic coherence, and a subtle yet refined contrast between the historic and the new.
Natural, enduring elegance. Its translucent, lightly pigmented surface creates a refined and carefully crafted appearance.
Distinct character through light and shadow. The linear, geometric surface profiling offers countless possibilities for creating expressive architectural effects.
A classic choice. Its translucent, lightly pigmented surface beautifully highlights the natural texture of fiber cement.
