The four-story masonry building, built in 1910, has been adapted to new functions and has been extended with a single-story volume, staircase extension, and new elevator shaft. To tie in with the surrounding environment and the existing building, the extension of the clinic is clad in fiber cement panels. Swisspearl was chosen due to its quality, aesthetics, and versatility. The dark gray contrasts with the ochre masonry. The upper section of the cladding is perforated, thus creating a variety of textures and visually separating the roof volume.LocationRiga, LatviaArchitectDUAL arhitekti, Riga, LatviaBuilderChildren Clinical University Hospital, Riga, LatviaPartnerTorensberg SIA, Riga, LatviaYear2021PhotographerMeraner & Hauser OHG/SNC, Bozen, Italy Back to the overview
