The Swisspearl Group is building a new production hall on the site of its headquarters in Niederurnen, on which the second-largest solar installation in the canton of Glarus is being built with a roof area of 8,000 m2. This solar plant will be operated by the company Swiss Energy Contracting.
The hall is also a pilot project for the new Sunskin facade flat solar system from Swisspearl Schweiz AG, which will be launched on the market in the second half of 2022. This is an important development, as solar systems on façades produce more electricity than flat-sloped roof surfaces due to the flatter solar radiation in the energy-intensive winter. In future, solar façades can therefore make an important contribution to electricity production in the cold months and to achieving the 2050 energy transition.
